VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
There are many ways residents can help maintain and improve the quality of life in the Orange Hunt neighborhood. Most require a small time commitment, but together produce a lot for our neighborhood. All efforts are appreciated! Many of these positions can be worked on your schedule – whatever that is. Take a look at the many ways you can help the community. President(elected) – Directs OHECA activities, chairs meetings.
Vice President(elected) – Assists president.
Treasurer(elected) – Maintains OHECA funds, disburses checks.
Secretary(elected) – Takes minutes of meetings.
Architecture - Reviews, as necessary, requests for home improvements.
Attorney (pro-bono)
Auditor - Once a year, reviews the books of OHECA. (Volunteer is not expected to be an accountant.)
CPA (pro bono)
Directory Editor - Once a year, creates/assembles the electronic version of the Orange Book.
Directory Advertising - Once a year, gathers vendor advertisements
Directory Distribution - Once a year, coordinates volunteers and delivery routes.
4th of July Parade - Plans, promotes, and recruits volunteers for our 4th of July Parade
Grounds - Coordinates the maintenance of the common grounds in Orange Hunt. Solicits bids from landscaping companies for most of the work.
Large Item Drop Off & Paper Shredding Event - Works with the Winston Knolls Civic Association to organize, promote and staff the biannual large item drop off and annual paper shredding events.
Membership - Once a year, prints, assembles and sends membership mailings out to the residents. Collaborates with Membership Committee, communicates with members, and recruits new members.
Membership Records - Ongoing, maintains the OHECA database and coordinates with other Board members as needed.
Membership Toolkit Website & OHECA Website - Maintains Membership Toolkit Website and updates annually. Maintains OHECA’s website and Facebook group. Manages content and design.
Neighborhood Contests - Coordinates judging and awarding prizes for our annual Beautiful Yard, Holiday Decor, and Halloween Decor contests.
Neighborhood Watch - Chair organizes captains, teams and schedules and communicates with local law enforcement. Neighborhood watch volunteers spend a few hours, twice a year, patrolling the neighborhood.
Newsletter - Editor collects articles for the newsletter, creates/assembles the electronic version of the newsletter.
Schools - Works with the various schools attended by children living in Orange Hunt and monitors school related issues that affect the Orange Hunt neighborhood.
Signboard - Updates Huntsman Blvd. signboard up to date.
Transportation - Works on transportation projects that affect Orange Hunt. Monitors transportation related issues that affect the Orange Hunt neighborhood.
Yard Sale - Organizes, advertises, promotes, and coordinates signs for biannual community yard sale.
