How much is my membership?

At only $35 per year per household, OHECA membership is a great value. We also accept donations toward tree maintenance, landscaping and special activities.

Why should I join OHECA?

Your dues and participation maintain our property values.

We maintain the common areas and medians. If OHECA didn’t do this, the county/state would mow only three times a year. YIKES!

We sponsor Adopt-A-Highway litter pickups along Huntsman Blvd.

We organize useful events such as bi-annual Community Yard Sales and FREE Big Item Disposals and Document Shreddings. Your membership costs less than a single trip to the dump!

We publish an annual directory – The Orange Book – with listings of residents, local businesses, and neighborhood services, such as babysitting and pet sitting.

We disseminate quarterly newsletters.

We work with state and local officials to promote neighborhood road safety initiatives for motorists and sidewalk maintenance for pedestrians.

We do FUN stuff like yard contests and holiday decorating contests.

Our main OHECA website (oheca.net), OHECA Facebook Group, and quarterly newsletters are great ways to meet your neighbors and get information. Check us out!

The Importance of Membership Dues
Membership dues are the lifeblood of the Orange Hunt Estates Civic Association (OHECA). Without these monies, OHECA would not be able to fulfill its charter to preserve the neighborhood’s property values and our quality of life.

Membership dues finance the care of the median strips on Huntsman Boulevard and Sydenstricker Road, the grassy triangle at the intersection of Sydenstricker and Field Master Drive, the grassy area of Cherry Run Park on Reservation Drive, the plants at the Huntsman Boulevard and Reservation Drive entrances, and other areas within the neighborhood that are mowed and trimmed from April to October. The dues pay for mailing the newsletter and membership forms to OHECA members, for printing the membership applications, and for other materials that must be purchased by OHECA. Dues also pay for OHECA’s liability insurance and for the electricity that lights the sign at the Huntsman Boulevard entrance.

Townhome Membership
OHECA membership is not the same as HOA townhome association membership, and OHECA does not receive any part of the townhome association fees. However, the Townes of Orange Hunt and the Orange Hunt Square townhomes were developed in conjunction with Orange Hunt Estates single family homes.  OHECA maintains the median and the large grassy triangle at the Sydenstricker/Field Master intersection. Residents of the townhomes may join OHECA for information purposes. We value our historical relationship with the Townes of Orange Hunt and Orange Hunt Square. Townhome membership in OHECA excludes voting rights.

OHECA Membership
All residents and owners of homes in Orange Hunt Estates are members of  OHECA (one membership per household). Members-in-Good-Standing have paid their dues, and in return may vote and make motions at OHECA meetings, and receive the OHECA directory. Additionally, all OHECA members benefit from OHECA-sponsored programs and activities.

All residents and owners of homes in Orange Hunt Estates must abide by OHECA’s bylaws and covenants regardless of whether dues are paid.  Dues must be paid up in order to vote at OHECA meetings. OHECA dues are not town-home dues, and OHECA receives no revenue from town-home fees.

Please Participate in OHECA
OHECA has long performed many essential services that maintain and improve property values in Orange Hunt Estates, by virtue of member dues and civic-minded volunteers. Member-in-Good-Standing levels and volunteer participation are now very low. OHECA does not wish to reduce services, nor does it want to increase the membership fee. However, OHECA must achieve a balanced budget. And OHECA welcomes anyone who volunteers to help with the work. Who knows? You may find that it is fun!

Annual Membership Drive
OHECA conducts a membership drive each fall starting in September for the next calendar year’s membership. Be alert for news of the drive in emails, the fall newsletter, mailings, here on the Neighborhood News section of this site, Facebook and the entrance sign board.

Please join and help spread the word with neighbors, new and old. Only those members who send in membership fees are entitled to a copy of the following year’s Orange Book (community directory).

Membership and Volunteers
OHECA is run entirely by volunteers – your neighbors who devote their time towards common good. Please consider joining them and becoming a volunteer as well. There are many areas/committees, and we encourage you to sign up for one (or more!) when joining OHECA or renewing your membership. Or, at any time of the year, feel free to contact the Membership Chairperson or the person who chairs the Committee that interests you to volunteer.

Your help is critical to the functioning of our civic association.
